MAKE-UP CLASSES

So you have to miss a class. Work trips. Feeling under the weather. Family emergencies. Life happens. What can you do?
It's easy to do a make-up class. You don't have to call us or email us or make any special arrangements. Just go to another class on another day anytime during the current semester. Here's the three simple steps for doing a make-up class.
  1. Go on the website and look at our studio calendar and choose a class on a day & time that you want for your make-up.
  2. If you're in a wheel class, you can schedule open studio time in the upper room during your make-up class time using the studio scheduler. You probably don't need to do this for handbuilding classes, but for wheel classes you can sign up for a wheel spot in the upper room just in case everyone shows up to class and there are no empty wheels in the classroom for you. For example, if you do a make-up in the Mon PM class (6:45p-9:45p) then you want to sign up for a wheel spot in the upper room for 3 hours from 7p-10p. You probably won't need the space because there is usually an empty seat in the classroom from someone being absent but having the open studio space reserved just in case you need it is potentially better than the risk of not having a space.
  3. Show up to the class about 5 minutes early and let the instructor know that you are doing a make-up class. About 15 minutes into the class, you and the instructor will be able to figure out if an empty seat is available from a regular student being absent. If there is an empty seat, then you take that seat and cancel the rest of the open studio time that you reserved previously. If there is no empty seat (because all the students have shown up for class) then you can watch the demos in the classroom and then use the open studio space that you reserved previously in the upper room.
That's it. Very easy. We hope this all makes sense. Please email us or call the main number (718 635 1394) if you need any clarification.
