Clay For The People (In-person)
The Spring 2025 Semester will run from Monday March 31 through Sunday June 22, 2025.
Sundays, 7:30-10pm. A class for black and brown folks in our community. Join teacher Kyle Lee (Ceramic Meltdown) and other guest artists (Ceramic Meltdown) and learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing and hand-building techniques. For the purposes of this class, we are prioritizing people of African, Latin, Pacific Island, Middle Eastern or Native American descent, historically underrepresented groups in many American studios.
This class is Sliding Scale, and the prices are: $55 (Seeding); $300 (Sustaining), and $600 (Generating). Please refer to this page to help you determine what stream to pay.
Class meets once a week for 12 weeks. Students have access to 5 clay bodies, glazes, cone 6 and cone 10 firings, and equipment in the studio. Open studio time is 6am-10pm every day, and all time is booked in the studio. Firing fees are 3 cents per cubic inch. Tool kits can be purchased on the first day of class.
