
Queer For Clay
The Spring 2025 Semester will run from Monday March 31 through Sunday June 22, 2025.
Thursdays, 1:30-4pm. A class for queer folks looking to make some queer pots in their community. Join teacher Samson Neary on a tour of queer ceramicists and learn the fundamentals of both handbuilding and wheel. Students are encouraged to come to class with projects in mind, and will make work inspired by the techniques of notable queer ceramic artists.
This class is Sliding Scale, and the prices are: $55 (Seeding); $300 (Sustaining), and $600 (Generating). Please refer to this page to help you determine what stream to pay.
Class meets once a week for 12 weeks. Students have access to 5 clay bodies, glazes, cone 6 and cone 10 firings, and equipment in the studio. Open studio time is 6am-10pm every day, and all time is booked in the studio. Firing fees are 3 cents per cubic inch. Tool kits can be purchased on the first day of class.
