Friday May 17, 6:30-9pm: Artist Talk
Inviting two artists dedicated to atmospheric firing to discuss their work, process, inspiration, and the magic of woodfiring with the community.
6:30-7:15pm: Emma Louise Kaye artist talk
7:30-9:00pm Shino Takeda artist talk and demonstration
Saturday May 18, 12-5pm: Gasworks NYC Staff + Teacher Sale
Gasworks NYC staff + teacher sale, featuring 18 of our skilled and talented staff and teachers working in our studio, with guest artists from the artist talk. Tours of the studio available to the public during the sale.
Saturday May 18, 7-9pm: Fundraiser + Throwdown for Public Ceramics:
Ticketed event to support Public Ceramics. Attendees will purchase a ticket and receive two drink tickets (sliding scale, pay what you can). There will be throw-down competitions! We will also have food and are welcoming contributions for potluck. Raffle prizes include tools, gift certificates for local restaurants, massages, tarot readings and other goodies from our local community. Participants in the throwdown have the opportunity to win hand-made trophies by Tig Tucker.
