Master potter, Byung Sik Moon, known on instagram as Moondobang (which in English means Moon’s Pottery Shop) is coming to NYC and we couldn't be more thrilled to have him at our studio.

Hailing from Pangyo, South Korea, Byung Sik Moon is a master potter who has worked in porcelain for over 20 years. His brand, Moon Do Bang is instantly recognizable for his impressive feats at the wheel, which have captivated audiences around the world on social media. Moon's forms draw on traditional Korean ceramics, such as the iconic moon jar, and this workshop will feature a demonstration of this form along with other techniques such as throwing clockwise, stretching large cylinders, and altering forms. Moon will also give a short artist talk and share his philosophies with the class. Gratitude to DoClay for organizing and including us in Moon's New York tour!

The workshop will run as follows: short artist talk followed by 2 hour demonstration, 1 hour for lunch, followed by 2 hours of hands on exploration under Moon's keen eye and guiding hand.

Space is limited to 12 participants only for the full workshop with hands-on instruction from Moon. Six additional spots are available where students can observe the artist talk and first demo (standing room only).

Participants will be able to fire one piece at the studio.
