This series of workshops will bring together the talents and perspectives of 10 women and gender non-conforming artists working in clay from around the country. Each week a different instructor will do an artist talk followed by a demonstration of one of their special skills or favorite techniques online via zoom. All classes will be recorded if you miss a class and you have access to the recordings for at least one year. We are now offering three price points: zoom only for $295, or take classes, have studio access, and the ability to fire at our studio for $495. Also, if you are a community studio and want to purchase access for your studio members, you can do so with the "community studio package" option below. BIPOC folks pay $150 for class with no access or $250 with studio access. Email cor@gasworksnyc.com for a discount code. Note: there is no greenware storage at the studio with studio access. Here's the lineup:

  • Eva Funderburgh will give an artist talk followed by a demonstration on how she makes her "flyer" sculptures
  • Natalia Arbalaez will give an artist talk followed by a demonstration on how to make quick gestural figures using the solid method
  • Michelle Im will give an artist talk followed by a demonstration of "faking porcelain-a journey into low-fired ceramics."
  • Sydnie Jimenez will give an artist talk followed by a demonstration of pinching and coiling to build a face and surface decoration with slip.
  • Jen Allen will give an artist talk followed by a demonstration of 3-d sketching and template making for plates, vases, and cups
