This intensive beginner class will guide students through the process of kiln cast glass. Expect to learn this indirect process from beginning to end and leave with at least two completed glass objects. Students will work in clay to develop forms, build open faced refractory molds, remove clay and clean molds, load the kiln, learn about firing schedules, divest molds, and coldwork. In the course of six weeks we will conduct two class firings. Please be advised attendance is crucial for the completion of individual projects, no make ups will be offered, prepare accordingly. This class does not come with open studio time.
