April 4-June 26
This special topics class will be a hand-building class dedicated to diving into the spiritual component of working with clay. Throughout the past millennia our ancestors have brought mindfulness and spirit into their work. This class seeks to honor that history and our lineage in clay. The bulk of the class will be taught by Kelley Donahue but guest speakers/artists will come in to teach classes and discuss the importance of connecting to spirit while working with clay, connecting to the work of our ancestors, and finding one's way with clay. If you've always longed to dive a little deeper into the spiritual realm of ritual, practice, and clay, this might be the class for you.
Students have access to clay, glaze and open studio time is available every day from 6 am - 11 pm. Firing fees are 3 cents a cubic inch. Open studio time must be scheduled due to the pandemic. Tool kits can be purchased on the first day of class.
