This is a 1 day workshop with the goal of helping you get started fermenting with your very own handmade fermentation crock and new recipes to take home with you.
The workshop will have the following schedule:
10a-12:30p: The first half of the day will be dedicated to a presentation and history of fermentation by food enthusiast and Supply Unica co-founder Marcus Im. He will then demonstrate how to make the following recipes (all possible in the fermentation jar you will make during second part of class): apple radish kimchi, sauerkraut, and apple cider vinegar.
1-4p: The second half of the day will be dedicated to making your own 2-4 quart fermentation crock. These crocks will be handbuilt with some preparation done for you before you walk through the door so that in a few short hours you can make your own handmade crock. The studio will fire them and glaze them for you and in a few weeks, you will be able to make your own ferments. Instructor will demonstrate how to make a crock with a fitted lid and weights.
During the workshop we will enjoy fermented foods and at the end of the workshop, people will go home with recipes, a fermentation crock (in 3-4 weeks) and a SCOBY to make your own kombucha with.
