THE HUMBLE POT PROJECT
What: The Humble Pot Project is a collaborative & donation based travelling workshop created & led by Michele Quan of MQuan Studio.
Where: Gasworks NYC
Why: A simple pinch pot is a beautiful thing to make and to hold. With no experience necessary and no tools other than your hands, we can make something out of clay.
We gather to make a simple & humble pot for us and for others, in an exercise of opening, giving & receiving.
When: April 5th, 7-10p. Two 1.5 mini workshops: 7-8:30pm & 8:30-10pm. Participants pay a material & firing fee of $10 to the studio plus a set donation based participation fee ranging from $20 to $150 or higher. 100% of the participant fee is donated to Public Ceramics, a new non profit organization dedicated to increasing access to the ceramic arts. Once fired, the participants return to pick up their pots 3-4 weeks later.
