Matt Katz from @ceramicmaterialsworkshop will lead a three day workshop on the basics of glaze chemistry but also help us learn the fundamentals of Crystaline Glazes. If you've ever wondered how to achieve these amazing effects, you will learn about how to make the glazes, prepare the work for firing and the firing schedules necessary to achieve the bright colorful crystals in Crystaline glazes.
Students will prepare many different tests the first day, fire them second day while learning about the chemistry and analyze results the last day. Students can also bring work to glaze if they make catch trays. Prepare to get your nerd on and learn how to make beautiful glazes.
